About WorldSays

WorldSays is a lightweight geographic polling experience: one question, one anonymous answer, and an aggregate view of how participating places respond.

How it works

The page receives public poll wording, place hierarchy, map settings and aggregate totals from the WorldSays API. A browser vote is associated with the approximate country, region or configured city available from Cloudflare network metadata; WorldSays does not request GPS access.

What the results mean

Results describe only voluntary participation. They are not a representative sample and should not be treated as scientific, demographic, medical, financial or political measurement. Small samples and approximate network geolocation can materially affect a place result.

A reusable engine

The same visual engine can present different two-choice polls and brands. Poll wording, supported languages, geographic pages, ranking data and renderer constraints are server-driven rather than embedded into the globe or map components.

Infrastructure and open assets

The frontend is delivered by Vercel. The API and vote processing run on Cloudflare Workers with Cloudflare D1 storage. Maps use MapLibre GL with OpenFreeMap and OpenStreetMap data. The night-Earth texture is a modified, quality-tiered derivative by Solar System Scope, licensed under CC BY 4.0.
